Asafa Powell, ironicamente nascido na Jamaica, se tornou ontem, 14/06/2005, o mais rápido ser humano de todos os tempos.
O velocista completou os 100 metros rasos em 9 segundos e 77 centésimos, 1 centésimo mais rápido que o recorde anterior, de Tim Montgomery.
Sujeito ainda a ratificação, a nova marca foi obtida no Athens Super Grand Prix Tsiklitiria 2005.
